Struggling to pay 20% towards your Council Tax?
Shropshire’s Council Tax Support Scheme changed in April 2018 and the majority of working–age people who previously received 100% Council Tax Support can now only claim a maximum of 80%.
This means people need to pay the remaining 20% out of their benefit income, a cost of around £15 – £35 a month.
We understand finding this money within stretched household budgets may be tough. If you are finding this change difficult to manage we would like to hear about your experience.
You can call 01743 280019 and ask for Elizabeth to go through a 10 minute survey over the phone, or complete the survey online at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CouncilTx
Paper copies are also available from our receptions.
We use our clients’ experiences to campaign for positive change, speaking up about the policies and services that cause people problems.
