IASS update – the Shropshire Local Area will be inspected by Ofsted and CQC next week
The Shropshire Local Area will be inspected by Ofsted and CQC next week. This is part of a plan of inspections nationally, most authorities having been inspected at least once since the education reforms in September 2014.
The inspection will evaluate how effectively the local area:
- identifies children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
- assesses and meets the needs of children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
- improves outcomes for children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.
The inspections are also gathering information about the impact of the reforms, that replaced Statements of Special Educational Needs (SEN) with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), so the focus is how effective the local area is since September 2014.
The inspectors will wish to meet parents so if you would like to be involved please contact IASS and we will add you to a list of interested parents.
