Chas, volunteer adviser at Citizens Advice Shropshire has volunteered for 12 years. They said:

“Volunteering provides a sense of purpose however with Citizens Advice one gets the feeling that we really are on the front line, helping people with real life concerns such as benefits, debt or housing issues. For some clients, Citizens Advice, is the only source of help available and I feel privileged that in some way I can help.

Volunteering helps to keep me in contact with what is going on in our society and with a need to keep up to date with various advice and information areas fulfils my need to ‘never stop learning’ ”

Jackie Jeffrey, Chief Officer at Citizens Advice Shropshire said:

“We have an incredible team of volunteers who freely give their time and skills to ensure people in Shropshire can get support in their time of need.  I’m particularly proud of the immense dedication they’ve shown during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, when demand for our help is so high. Their dedication and commitment knows no bounds. We simply couldn’t do it without them.”
